Gravesham School’s Spelling Bee
Northfleet Technology College hosted the first annual Gravesham School’s Spelling Bee on Wednesday 25 April. Year 7 students from Northfleet School for Girls, Meopham School, St Georges CofE School and St Johns battled against 2 of our students to be crowned the best spellers. The competition consisted of 10 rounds which included forward spell, backward spell, Ping-Pong spelling and speedy spell. The competition was fierce, and after 10 gruelling rounds, two schools were tied for first place; Northfleet Technology College and St George’s CofE went into a nerve racking knockout round. The two teams continued to pull spellings out of the bag to keep everyone on tenterhooks, but with a slip up from NTC, St Georges correctly spelt Luxurious to claim the trophy. Mrs Partridge, Headteacher of NTC, presented the certificates and trophy. Well done to all the students who attended, and we will see you all again next year.
