Going beyond in Summer 2016 Examinations!

Northfleet Technology College is celebrating yet another year of recording breaking results across the board.

Phenomenal success has been achieved at Key Stage 4 with 69% of our boys gaining A*-C in both English and maths GCSE. English results were again exceptional with 94% making expected progress and 63% making more than expected progress.  In maths 78% made expected progress and 32% made above this.

The numbers achieving the higher grades continues to improve with 28 A* grades, 146 A*-A grades and a massive 25% of students achieved at least 5A*-B.

These results will all be well above national levels and buck the trend of boys’ poor performance nationally.

Key Stage 5 results improved in all four areas (A level, Academic, Applied and Tech Level).  This underlines the importance that the school places upon providing a relevant curriculum for all its learners. The increased numbers of students studying the International Baccalaureate Career-related programme has supported these successes.   There have been continued improvements in our vocational courses which now average the highest grade of Distinction*. Contrary to national reports of poor performance our English and mathematic resits continue to show good progress.

Jane Partridge, Headteacher of Northfleet Technology College commented that, ‘We are extremely proud of the achievements of all of our community. As ever, our students have responded to the school ethos with determination and have ‘gone beyond’ to aspire to achieve the highest grades. These excellent results are built on the strong relationships across the school and the outstanding commitment of all staff members and parents.’
