Basketball in Lockdown
While Covid-19 related restrictions have prevented all our lower school teams from practising, we have compiled some resources to ensure our players can get a basketball fix outside of NTC, which will help to stay active, healthy and continue their development. Despite the Lockdown, cases have risen throughout Kent and it’s important all our students adhere to the latest guidelines as we move into Tier 3.
“No mixing of households indoors or most outdoor places, apart from within support bubbles. Maximum gatherings of six in some outdoor spaces (for example, parks and public gardens)”
We have created some videos with our academy players of skills, drills and games that can be practiced in small spaces with or without a basket. These will be distributed shortly.
Our Academy team is partnered with Kent Crusaders and they have created a fantastic resource online ranging from skill development to functional and foundation strength and conditioning. Please click the link to view the resources: https://www.kentcrusaders.co.uk/wp/players-and-parents-resource
All young athletes these days appreciate interactive games and feedback. Another free resource our players can access is the Homecourt:Basketball Training App. Please note, this is currently only available on Apple devices. The App will track and challenge their abilities to dribble, pass or shoot, this is a free App, although there is the option for In-App purchases.
