Why Choose NTC Sixth Form?
Whilst many of our Year 11 students choose to stay on into our sixth form, we also welcome applications from young men and women from other schools who wish to take advantage of all that we have to offer.
Here are some reasons why you should join our successful and inspirational sixth form.
With five programmes on offer, including our Progression Pathway, Vocational Pathway, IBCP Pathway, Basketball Academy and Football Academy, we ensure that students are studying courses which are suited to their individual aptitudes, abilities and ambitions.
We are one of the top performing sixth forms in the borough in terms of progress, with students securing places at some of the best universities in the country, taking up high quality apprenticeships, or entering full-time employment.
Small teaching groups allow for an unrivalled level of personalised support and increased contact time.
A highly skilled and committed Sixth Form team consisting of specialist teachers who are experts in their field and passionate about their subject; a dedicated Progress Manager to offer guidance and oversee both academic and personal progress; and an experienced pastoral team offering outstanding care and support.
Access to careers and UCAS guidance, including mock interviews, personal statement and CV workshops and support, work experience opportunities, careers fairs and workshops with external business and professionals.
Through our unique PQLI (Professional Qualification of Leadership and Innovation) Programme, students work hard to gain volunteering hours by supporting the school, taking on responsibilities and contributing to the local community. This develops students’ character, values, leadership and service - vital in the current climate of high competition for aspirational jobs - and is thus an excellent addition to personal statements and CVs.
We organise many highly rewarding and life-changing trips in this country and abroad. Some complement students’ academic study, while others introduce them to new experiences and cultures. In addition, there are a vast number of clubs and extracurricular activities on offer for students to participate in or even lead themselves.
Our distinct Sixth Form area offers a library, a supervised study area and specialist classrooms. There are computers to use, in addition to the laptop each student receives, plus free access to fully equipped sports and gym facilities. There are then areas to relax and socialise, including a café run by our sixth formers.
