I found the prospect of moving to secondary school quite daunting, but NTC went to great lengths to make sure we were settled in and found the experience exciting, not scary.
CruzGoing Beyond in Sport
NTC has shown Cruz that with hard work, dedication and appreciation you can accomplish anything. He lives out these qualities not only in his studies, but on the football pitch too which is where his future lies. Cruz admires the PE Department here at NTC, from the dedicated lessons and range of clubs to the specialist teachers, incredible grounds and unique facilities. Â
Walking through the school gates for the first time was a little scary, with it being so big! But don't worry, you soon get used to it. I was also nervous that I didn't know anyone, being the only one from my primary school. However, I met so many new people through the buddy system who I now call my friends.

Â
Declaring a special love of Maths, Codie is striving to pursue a career in accounting. He believes the skills that he is acquiring at NTC through his lessons and extracurricular activities are helping him to achieve this ambition. Â

He believes his teachers at NTC are also the best role models, inspiring him to remain committed to his studies whilst delving deeper into new skills and techniques on the football pitch or basketball court. Â
I would recommend NTC because of the sense of community. The people here are one of the main reasons why this school is so enjoyable.

Lumir has particularly excelled in Science during his short time at the school, learning more than he ever did before thanks to his teacher whose high expectations encourages him to push beyond his limits. He has loved carrying out mind-blowing experiments and learning all about the science behind every day phenomena. Â

Kian shines in English where he passionately discusses and debates literature with his peers, and so it comes as no surprise that he would like to pursue a career in Law. He commends his teachers who make learning engaging and fun and who have high expectations and standards which pushes him to achieve more. Kian believes he has grown both academically and socially here at NTC. He knows more in English, Maths and Science than he ever did before; and has developed key life skills such as teamwork, independence and communication, all of which will help him as a lawyer. Â
I love the open learning spaces because they allow us students to interact with each other and mentor one another, no matter what year group you are in. There is a real sense of camaraderie here.
ZacGoing Beyond in Science

The high expectations that teachers have of students has fostered qualities such as independence, resilience and initiative that Zac believes will hold him in good stead for the future. Â
Zac is a self-professed all-rounder who enjoys all aspects of the school curriculum which is making choosing his GCSE subjects this year a challenge. He loves practical subjects such as PE, DT and Music, but most of all Science where his strengths lie. Â
I am proud to have gone from strength to strength in Science since joining NTC. I love the interactive experiments that support our learning, the modern facilities and experienced teachers. There is also lots of trips to look forward to which we've unfortunately missed out on because of the pandemic.

Luca's proudest moment was playing a leading role in both Monty Python's Spamalot and Aladdin. His experience in both Drama and Media has inspired him to pursue a career in the media industry, potentially working in a TV studio as a videographer. He loves the idea of working in an industry where every day is a different, you can meet new people, and see an array of talents. Â

Nii is one of NTC's budding entrepreneurs who dreams of setting up his own business one day. From engaging in extracurricular activities and events to his role as Basketball Captain, Nii has developed resilience, leadership skills, teamwork skills, interpersonal skills and confidence, all of which will support him in running a successful business. Â
The freedom that NTC gives us students to try new things and achieve both creatively and academically are just some of the school's strengths. Beyond my lessons, I've enjoyed making memories with friends during after school clubs and on school trips. Our camping trip in Year 7 is certainly one of my highlights.
