Pathways
We offer four pathways at NTC Sixth Form.
This ensures our students are studying the courses which are suited to their individual aptitudes, abilities and ambitions.
Level 2 Pathway
This pathway is suited for students are not quite ready for a Level 3 course and still require time to gain a Grade 4 in their English Language and/or Mathematics GCSEs. Students will study their English Language and/or Mathematics resit alongside 2x Level 2 BTEC qualifications, which are the equivalents of 2 more GCSEs. We also offer Functional Skills in English if students did not achieve at least a Grade 3 in their GCSE. This is a 1 year pathway, where upon completion students may either continue at NTC on a Level 3 pathway for 2 more years, or may choose to leave us and study at a different provider.

Level 3 Pathway
The Level 3 Pathway is suited for students who have achieved a Grade 4 in both GCSE English Language and Mathematics and would like to study some vocational subjects at a higher level. In this pathway students may choose 3 of our Level 3 vocational subjects from our range of BTEC, RSL and Personal Finance qualifications. There are 13 of these subjects to choose from.

IBCP Pathway
This pathway is suited for students achieving a Grade 4 or above in both GCSE English
Language and Mathematics, along with 3 additional Grade 4s. This is our most academic pathway where students take 4 subjects alongside the compulsory IB Core. Students will choose 2 IB subjects and 2 vocational subjects. There are 8 IB subjects, and 13 vocational subjects to choose from.

Academies Pathway
This pathway is suited for students of all abilities who would like to be student athletes. They will join either the Basketball, Football or Athletics Academy while enrolling on one of the other three pathways above. The Academies are on offer for students of all abilities.
