NTC’s Secret Science Garden
We are delighted to announce that the school received a grant from the Winston Churchill Memorial Fellowship and Royal Meteorological Society to create our very own nature reserve and transform the way Science is taught in schools.
Our Science Department worked hard last academic year to redevelop and modernise our Science Garden, bringing in all the latest technology to capture data and monitor the activity of local wildlife. From solar panels to rainwater recovery and motion activated cameras to a fully-functioning weather station, we have it all!
Through a rewilding project, students will be answering the question “What animals and plants share our world”. So far we have seen wild cherry trees blossoming and have spotted foxes, squirrels, blackbirds, greenfinches and a range of insects paying a visit.
