To support your family, you need to maintain your own mental health and wellbeing.  With today's mounting pressures, it isn't easy being a parent or carer - especially if you are experiencing problems of your own.  If often helps to talk.

NHS urgent Mental Health helplines - where to find help



 NHS urgent mental health helplines are for people of all ages.

You can call for:

  • 24-hour advice and support – for you, your child, your parent or someone you care for
  • help to speak to a mental health professional
  • an assessment to help decide on the best course of care

You can text "SHOUT" to 85258 for free from all UK major networks

 Free support with mental health and wellbeing for people anywhere in Kent. 

You might be struggling with anxiety or depression, experiencing stress, feeling hopeless, isolated or overwhelmed.  Whatever you are facing, Porchlight are here to listen.


 North Kent Mind can offer you a range of wellbeing services and resources if you are going through a difficult time or struggling emotionally.  This includes courses to develop mental health coping strategies, help you manage depression, anxiety and stress, and to improve your self-esteem and become more confident. There is also employment support if you feel that your mental health has become a barrier to finding work.


This is the UK’s only platform to signpost users to a range of multi-sector, multi-disciplinary and location-specific youth mental health and well-being experts.
